Character Ed

Student led club that promotes courage, honesty, respect, responsibility at HJH. This club will be for ninth grade only. We meet the first Friday of every month. Starting in October.

Extreme Team Ski and Snowboard

Participants will race at Bogus Basin and Dotty Clark.

Honor Society

Students are invited to participate in the National Jr. Honor Society. Honor Society will meet on the second Tuesday of the month in the library at 12:30

Library League
A club for kids who love the library!  Library League meets about once a month to talk about books, share upcoming library news and events, look at the latest book arrivals, and have a treat. No sign-up or membership is required.

Lit Lunches
Once a quarter, the Hillside Library hosts a book club lunch. Lit Lunch titles are announced at least four weeks in advance. Students who read the book and then sign up for the Lit Lunch with Mr. Taylor get to attend a special lunch in the library to discuss the book.

About once a month, Jen from the Boise Public Library comes to talk about books and share some of her favorites. ​

Outdoor Club

The club’s goal is to increase student knowledge and awareness of outdoor related topics, recreation, and potential career opportunities; provide a network for Hillside students to share outdoor knowledge and experiences; create, build, and foster friendships between students at Hillside. The club will meet every other week (2 per month) on Wednesdays during 5th period lunch in Mr. Beckley’s room and 6th period lunch in Mr. Rausch’s room.

Science Bowl

National Science Bowl® (NSB) is a highly competitive science education and academic event among teams of high school and middle school students who compete in a fast-paced verbal forum to solve technical problems and answer questions in all branches of science and math. Regional science bowl championship teams receive an all-expenses paid trip to compete at the national event. Student Ambassadors
Students welcome new students to Hillside.  The ambassador will escort a new student to each class, assist with opening a locker, and provide important information regarding our school.  For a few days, the ambassador will meet the new student at lunch and introduce his/her friends so that the new student will have friends to eat with.
The Student Ambassadors meet for an initial training.  They will be invited to meet with the new student when needed.  At the end of the school year, the ambassadors will provide tours for our visiting 6th grade students during the orientation.

Unity Club

Meetings will be held on Wednesdays, during both lunches. The Unity Club meets during first lunch and second lunch. The club will meet in the large conference room across the hall from the Main Office.

Video Game Club Nerds Unite!  Video Game Making Club meets in 117 on Tuesdays and Thursdays during 1st lunch. Adviser: Mr. Dultz
