Electronic Device Policy

Hillside promotes the responsible use of personal electronic devices and a safe school environment. All portable electronic devices must be turned off at the start of the school day (7:50 a.m.) and should remain off during passing periods, break and lunch. Devices and ear phones must not be visible during that time. Classroom use must be authorized by the teacher and be a part of class curriculum. Violation of this policy may result in disciplinary procedures that start with the removal of the personal electronic device from the student and may progress to suspension.
